Kia ora koutou!
My name’s Jo, and Over the Edge of the Wild is my little corner of the internet where I ramble on about the travels I’ve had, and those that I’m planning for the future. It saves the people around me from having to listen.
Actually, that’s not true. I make them listen as well.
When I first started this blog, almost five years ago, it was just going to be a place to write down a few updates so my family knew I hadn’t fallen off the face of the world. As the travelling got busier though, the stories got a little (OK, a lot) further apart and it’s become something of a space for me to reminisce as I try to catch up on the tales I haven’t told yet.
Having been back in New Zealand for a bit over a year now, I’m still struggling to fit back into “real” life. I constantly long for the freedom of the road and so I’m trying to put into action some of the ideas I have for ways to build my life around that. My life currently feels like it’s both in a position of stasis and transition, and so I’m hoping that this site will evolve with me as plans take shape and my dream comes closer to reality.
Whatever the state of my life or yours, welcome to Over the Edge of the Wild. I hope that you find something here that speaks to you where you’re at, and I’d love to have you stick around to share my journey.
Please use the social media links to connect with me, via Facebook or email, or leave me a comment on a post. If you’d like to make a physical contribution to my dream of making a life from writing and travelling, please consider becoming a Patron of the site on Patreon. Or simply be here and enjoy my adventures, because stories are why this blog started, and they remain at the heart of everything I want to do.
He aha te mea nui o te ao? He tangata, he tangata, he tangata.
What is the most important thing in the world? It is people, it is people, it is people.
Also, if you love my logo as much as I do, send me a message and I can put you in contact with my good friend, Jared Waldron, who designed it.
