Hi! I’m Jo. Welcome to
Over the Edge of the Wild.
In 2012, I left New Zealand to embark on an adventure into the unknown. More than 50 countries – and, more importantly, innumerable experiences – later, there’s nothing I want more than to keep exploring this incredible planet of ours and telling its stories.
Although this blog started (as so many travel blogs do) as a way to keep family and friends updated on my adventures, over time I’ve noticed that my favourite stories tend to focus on a small number of themes, namely food and culture (in all its various forms).
I love the stories of people who are making a difference in their part of the world; the street food stalls that provide an opportunity to make local connections; the experiences that show me new ways of seeing the world; and the serendipity that is impossible to avoid when you’re pushing the edges of your comfort zone every day.
If you love those kinds of stories too, I hope you find plenty to enjoy here. Welcome!
